Mariano | traditional roots
Born in Buenos Aires, Mariano grew up in a tango family, visiting the milongas of Buenos Aires since he was a child. His parents Lalo y Mirta were the pioneers of tango in Holland. They toured in Europe with Osvaldo Pugliese and his Orquesta Típica, and gave many guest seminars in Holland, Belgium, Germany, and other European countries.
Mariano was surrounded by tango culture his whole life. Legendary dancers and musicians were visiting his family very often. Mariano got his first dancing shoes from Antonio Todaro. Pepito Avellaneda and Osvaldo Pugliese were good family friends and regular guests at his family's house.
The natural result was of this playful learning was, that he started teaching tango at a young age. In 1995, at age 21, he started teaching tango. He performed with various dance partners for tv, in theaters and at concerts. At age 26 he met Cosima and a they are a tango couple ever since.
Cosima | expert in healthy movements
Cosima has been dancing since the age of 7, and she played the violin since she was 5. She discovered Tango when she studied Tango Violin at the Rotterdam Conservatory ('96/'97) where she also played in the tango orchestra OTRA.
A few years later she made the inevitable change from playing tango to dancing tango. She studied intensively in Buenos Aires with renowned maestros.
She became an expert in healthy body movements and dydactics, thanks to her studies in and work as excercise therapist and physical therapist.
Methodology
Mariano and Cosima have created a unique methodology for tango, combining Mariano's traditional roots and Cosima's expertise of didactics and healthy movements and breathing. Their methodology is based on the four elements water, air, fire, earth.
Master of Tango
Mariano and Cosima have studied intensively in Buenos Aires with reknowned maestros. They have graduated as 'Master of Tango Argentino' at the Escuela Argentina de Tango in Buenos Aires.
Show dancers, organizers, teachers
From 2001 - 2006 Mariano (since 2004 with Cosima) has toured as show-dancer with various tango orchestras, which brought him to the most beautiful stages in Holland (Carré, Koninklijk Concertgebouw, Royal Palace Noordeinde), and on extensive tours in Japan.
Since 2005 the couple is organizing tango travels in Southern Europe and Buenos Aires, as well as many tango events, such as tango festivals and tango weekends in among others The Netherlands and Belgium.
